Rules and Regulations

Sporting Facilities User
  • The SRS facilities are for exclusive use by members only. Users may be subjected to checks for membership verification.
  • Opening Hours
    07.00am to 09.00pm, Monday to Friday
    07.00am to 05.00pm, Saturday & Sunday
    • Facilities Booking Priority

Minimum booking = 1 hour

  • Payment must be made 1 day in advance. Failing which, booking will be cancelled and will be released to others without prejudice.
  • The entire Sports & Recreation Centre, including the outdoor facilities and car park areas, are designated smoke-free. All users are to refrain from smoking in these areas. Disciplinary action will be taken against offenders.
  • No food and drinks are allowed in all indoor court.
  • Players are to be dressed in appropriate sports attire at all times. Appropriate sports shoes are to be worn. Bare feet/ slippers/ sandals/ boots/ smart casual shoes/ shoes with spikes or protrusions are not allowed.
  • SRS reserve the right to override or cancel any booking made. Users will be notified via student webmail.
  • Members who book the facilities shall be responsible for any loss or damage for the time lot, and may be liable to any other disciplinary action decided on by SRS personnel, if such damage or loss is determined to have been caused by carelessness, negligence, or improper conduct of residents, or their visitors/ guests.
  • Member found breaking any of the above rules will be issued warning letters and if the second warning is ignored, Curtin University Non- Academic Disciplinary Committee will enforce appropriate action.
  • For your safety, you are advised to stop play and move into nearby buildings when there is lightning. In event of wet weather, you are not to use the outdoor facilities when the condition is not conducive (e.g: soggy fields, wet courts) to avoid injuries and harm.
  • All activities after 9.00pm should be within acceptable noise level in order not to cause disturbances to the nearby accommodation complex. No excessive noise levels or use of PA systems are allowed after 10.00pm.
  • Members must comply with any instructions given by SRS personnel and its representatives on duty.
  • SRS personnel and its representatives may, at his own discretion, request users who are found to be in breach of any of the rules and regulations to cease or desist from such action or to leave the court immediately.
  • Members shall comply with additional rules as imposed by SRS from time to time.
  • SRS reserves the right to add, delete and/ or vary the above as it deems fit.
  • The University, its staff, agents or representatives shall not be liable for any mishap, disability, damage, loss, injuries, or deaths howsoever caused arising from or in connection with use of the sport facilities.
Gymnasium User
  • The Gym is for exclusive use by members only. Membership is not transferrable.
  • Member are requested not to bring guests into the Gym. Users may be subjected to checks for membership verification.
  • Person under 16 years old are not permitted into the Gym.
  • Opening hours
    07.00am to 09.00pm, Monday to Friday
    07.00am to 05.00pm, Saturday & Sunday
  • Members should consult their physician for the appropriate exercise regime. Any exercise undertaken without the above shall be done at the member’s own risk.
  • Members are to be dressed in appropriate sports attire at all times. Appropriate sports shoes are to be worn. Bare feet/ slippers/ sandals/ boots/ smart casual shoes/ shoes with spikes or protrusions are not allowed.
  • Towel must be brought along by members and used at all times. Members are to wipe the equipment after usage for hygiene reasons.
  • No food and drinks are allowed at the workout area. Smoking is strictly not allowed.
  • Members should use the lockers provide inside the changing rooms, to store their belongings during workout with own padlock. No personal belongings to be brought into the workout area. Lockers are not meant for long term storage. Any lockers found locked overnight will be forced open and have its contents removed. Storage of valuable items is at the student’s and staff’s own risks. The University shall not be held liable for any loss or damage of any nature to any of the items kept in the lockers provided.
  • Other than electrical and air conditioner switches, members are not allowed to tamper with other gadgets in the Gym. If a member is the last to leave the Gym, he or she is to switch off the light and air-con for energy conservation.
  • Members must adhere to instructions on the usage of the usage of the exercise equipment. Weights lock must be used at all times while using the bar bells.
  • Members are requested to return all portable gym equipment (such as weight plates, bar bells and dumbbells) to their original positions after use. Exercise equipment is not allowed to be taken out from the Gym under all circumstances.
  • A member who causes loss or damage of the equipment due to act of negligence shall bear the cost of repairing or replacing the equipment.
  • Members must comply with any instructions given by SRS personnel and its representatives on duty.
  • SRS personnel and its representatives may, at his/her own discretion, request users who are found to be in breach of any of the rules and regulations to cease or desist from such action or to leave the Gym immediately.
